I have to disagree slightly here. I wouldn't say Pfeiffer's version isn't Catwoman and doesn't pay homage to certain aspects of the character... it just doesn't portray the burglar portion. Other aspects from the character's history are there: Physical trauma as a means to creating the Catwoman persona (portrayed in the 50's origin of the character), abusive men as a catalyst (portrayed in both the Earth 2 and somewhat Miller Year One versions), and of course the romantic tension between her and Batman (which is really the core of the character's importance to the mythos).

In my eyes, the thief aspect of the character is a relatively small part of what makes Catwoman "Catwoman", and Pfeiffer's version is still plenty "Catwoman" without it.

Again, just my opinion though. :)

Hmmmm. Small maybe, but equally important.

Being a thief gave her the moniker Catwoman to begin with, only given a more cat-like costume to complement Selina's activity. She's a cat-burglar, that's what she was when Batman and her first met, known only as "The Cat". The rest of things added to make her less boring, to give more life to her, and make her as complex as everyone in Gotham City/Batman mythos may be important (especially at making her different from, no pun intended, copycats such as another catburglar from the competition), but to me who she is from the very beginning, no matter how simple, defines Catwoman too, and shouldn't be omitted in any version of the character. Doing so will be like skipping on Spidey being bitten by a radioactive spider -- the simpler part of his origin as Spider-man -- while his origin as a hero began after the death of Uncle Ben.

I think the TDKR Catwoman was alright, certainly better than I thought she'd be. For me, she's actually one of the few good things about TDKR. There probably should have been more of her.

She's pretty one-dimensional compared to the Returns Catwoman but she wasn't terrible at all.

forget about this line and line up for more IM.....face reality!

Hathaway's Catwoman is definitely a supporting character, rather than a primary character, like Pfieffer's Catwoman.

Which is good - different movies focus on different characters, so we get to see the focus on a variety of different roles, rather than the same-old same-old.

Im not the biggest fan of Returns but I find myself looking forward to these figures. Im tired of the Nolan stuff for a while. Besides, Batman 89 mania was fun last year. I hope its the same for these releases.

Will we be seeing Batman Returns at SDCC this year? Is the one question HT's should answer for their fans.
Knowing HT's they will say "YES" and reveal more Iron Man!!! :explode:

Mandarin teaser of the full figure was just revealed along with 5-7 other Iron Man products. I don't think we'll be seeing Returns stuff any time soon.

I was digging the Marvel stuff up until this IM3 overload (and the whole diecast money-grab). It is just too much product, too fast, with too high of a price... Especially when stuff talked about over a year ago like Batman Returns hasn't even had one prototype shown. :(

I am ending my Marvel run with the completed Avengers. "Phase One" is enough for me. So until HT shows off some Batman Returns, they aren't going to be getting much more of my money.

I'm sure they have the prototypes done, who knows how long they've been in development before the announcement.

Batman and Joker came out of no where and blind sided people without teasers or anything. They just showed up at shows (well, Joker and the Batmobile anyway).

Hopefully they'll be out eventually, I mean, that's a second version of Keaton Batman and two unique villains from his Rogues Gallery that people can add to their Bat-collections. Not to mention the customs/kitbash value they'd have with their parts.

Every time I see this thread bumped, I get excited because I think there might be some new info, but there never is. :( C'mon HT! Give us BR!!!

Same here.

I just keep imagining that I come in here and see a teaser of the Hot Toys Returns Batman chest with the new symbol and streamlined abdomen plates.

I wouldn't hold my breathe. The 89 Bats and Joker can still be bought.

HT is focusing on IM, Superman MoS, and , I'd bet, soon Thor 2 and The Wolverine.

I'm hoping we get some news at SDCC at this point, but I'm not holding my breath. It'll probably be one of those times where there's no news for over a year, and then one day there's an announcement with a full spec sheet out of the blue.

All I want is a Batman Returns Batman, Arkham City Batman, Roadblock, and Cobra Commander. I doubt we see any of these before October. And Even then, we may see more IM figs. mean they haven't done a Happy fig, or a Tony on the toilet version.

The only Marvel I want is The Wolverine, and Black Panther(I hate Marvel/Disney for ignoring him). I am tempted by Avengers Cap, but not enough to pull the trigger.

The only batstuff i think we will see at comic con is joker arkham asylum and the armory from hot toys. Maybe we will see a peek of the returns line by end of the year. I cant wait to see a penguin and returns bat and catwoman. I would love a vault or a batcave dio.
