Sam's hair looks a little clunky. I don't think the problem is with his face.

The helmets look badass. My only criticism is that Frodo is unarmed.

2 full 1:6th scale hobbits was never going to come in at $250. This was $275 all the way.

My only criticism is that Frodo is unarmed.

Frodo was unarmed after he was rescued by Sam. He did not grab an Orc weapon once they changed clothes or after making it through the last Orc camp because he was too weak to do anything really. This stays with that from what we saw in the movie.

This is if my memory serves me correctly in both the moie and book.

I agree about the price, so much details for two caracters. I just hope we wont get problems with the china production quality control.

In the movie, they both walked out of Cirith Ungol armed. They both still had them at the bottom of the hill.

This is an interesting image. Don't think it was in the film, but it looks like it's after the camp.

The price seems reasonable relative to the rest of the line. I think Sam only looks weird in the one head on picture. He looks fine in the other pictures and I think it's because he has no neck since his outfit covers it. It makes his head look big at that angle.

I wish PJ gave them different helmets. These are ok but after seeing all the Weta helms from the orcs, man there are some real cool helms in that collection

That's right they did both have swords leaving Cirith Ungol. Good catch as that one slipped my mind. Still doesn't both me him not having a sword since really at that point in the story he was so wiped out by the ring. It fits better him not having one I think.

Yeah, I believe that's an unused scene. I don't recall it ever being that bright while in Mordor.

Do you guys no if I PO it tomorrow, can I use my reward points when it's time to play?

the reason I ask is because I have $90 right now but I should have about $180 in the coming months.

Yes, it will go up tomorrow but you have to use points when you order. So if you're going to have more down the road you'll have to wait for those to becomes available if you want to use them all.

I think I'll leave Sam with his helmet on.

:exactly::lecture

The Sam sculpt expression is a little.... weird

Frodo looks great, but Sam looks alittle off.

Price is fair. I would have thought closer to $250 given the size, but there is as much detail on two smaller figures as there is one normal sized one, maybe even alittle more.

Price is ok but there is something wrong with sam's face.. Frodo is perfect though :yess: I will display it a little bit turned around to the left so that Frodo is looking forward and you only see Sam from his left side..

Sam's mouth looks like a baby's mouth looking for a bottle. His expression is so non-descript. He looks stoned. Maybe if his face was wider/fuller it would look more like him. He looks too skinny.

That's what I assumed. Thanks for the clarification.

I really don't understand the surprise in regard to the pricing of this maquette. Though I suspect there is a tendancy for some to always find something to complain about. If not for Weta's disturbing new business model, that being the "open edition" nature of their statues, I would have purchased Bilbo [and Gandalf] without the slightest hesitation. Yet when I look at the price difference between Bilbo and the Sam/Frodo maquette in relation to what each statue 'brings to the table" it becomes clear that all statues are not created equally. Both are of excellent quality, yet for the additional $75 cost of the Sideshow maquette collectors get two fully sculpted 1/6 scale characters instead of one. They get a sculpted base/environment designed specifically [and only] for these characters, as opposed to the generic, assembly line base that comes with all Weta statues. They get a statue that offers an opportunity for alternative display options, and they get a statue that is both numbered and limited, as opposed to one that is unnumbered, and one which we will never know just how limited it really is. All things considered, I think the additional $75 of the Sideshow maquette is money well spent. And with over $300 in rewards points sitting in my Sideshow account at the moment, ordering this tomorrow is a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned

Will be ordering tomorrow for sure! :)

me too, i decided to get the ex. Dont think i have ever waited and wanted any other statue for this long, owe it to myself to go ex all the way to the end.

now only 1 more left before all this is over, why did i ever listen to josh and get into this line argg! :panic:

Definite Ex order from me! :yess:

I am one of those who are not at all complaining about the price for this statue. Like JHobbit wrote, you really get alot for your money, especially when compared to recent Weta offerings (as nice as those are!).

Besides, I would be glad to see this statue sell well, it would send a message to SSC that collectors are in fact willing to spend money for Hobbit figures, that were so long asked for by many!

If this doesn't sell, I'm not too sure if we will ever see a Merry&Pippin statue, let alone Hobbit PFs.

Because you had the good common sense to do so. :lol I think getting out of this line after the Fellowship is complete would be a strange move. There are so many great characters to bring home from this amazing story.
