the sculpt is good enough just would have been nice as most of you simply forget that this helmetless head with the new paint app could have made a real nice Tony kitbash (you really can't do that with the helmet version) especially for those who never picked up the original M3. Luckily with glasses he is still pretty great

Actually, in hand, I think the MK3 RDJ don't look as good as the proto pics, but yes as a sculpt, The first ever HT's RDJ looks more like errr...RDJ than the MK4's.

I wonder if tomorrow or next week is too soon for it to hit the streets? Speaking of 'hitting the streets', recently Toys2 been my store of choice. Do they offer reward points or anything like SS or Alter Ego? If so, how do you earn and recoup the points?

..i think the eye's are what make or break a figures sculpt ..the new Iv's downey sculpt has very small eyes and thats whats really throwing off the rest of the sculpt which is actually really good, now the original m3 sculpt is really outdated looking at this stage but what makes that sculpt more downey like then this one imo is the eyes , they are the right size on the original and that makes a whole lot of difference!
I might agree with you. The more I see the new sculpt, the less I like it. It looks absolutely nothing like Downey. The first Mark III sculpt looks a bit like some generic guy with a goatee, but I can sorta kinda see Downey in there. This new one looks a lot more interesting and distinctive IMO, but RDJ it is not. I'll usually give HT a bit of leeway, but they missed the boat completely on this one. Looks about as accurate as the first Joker head looks like Ledger.

I think the profile shot and 3/4 angle from above help the likeness show through. I don't think it's anywhere as terrible as some folks here are making it seem.
In my opinion, the new Stark sculpt looks more like RDJ than the WM Rhodey sculpt looks like Don Cheadle.

I was bored so I did a little mod. I think the problem is the distance from the nose to the lip. Here is my adjustment.

That's one of the problems, yep. Another big one is how his lower face (below the nose) is proportionately too large for the rest of his head. Plus, the eyes are wrong, of course.

This is the first time I think a sculpt that wasn't meant to look asian... looks at least part asian.
didnt a HT exhibit customizer take the mech test head, added real hair and that just turned into the best RDJ ever? deep insideI was hoping HT cloned that customizer to roll out Tonys like that ... now where was that pic as that really shows how good that sculpt was
I just hope we get more than 1 lousy donut
