TFA deserves to be bumped. A movie that fooled the world.
You are so right.

Watched Fury Road again for the first time in several years. Wow, such a spectacular film.

And lol at James Cameron for bragging about having a woman 7 months pregnant go into battle. I hate to break it to you Jim but George beat you by 7 years and with a girl *9* months pregnant and even starting to experience labor(!) mid-battle and she was still using her body as a human shield, climbing on the outside of a speeding truck, etc. I also don't recall George Miller bragging or congratulating himself about that fact either.

It is beautiful. Miller has an amazing eye.

And he doesn't burden the viewer with a story to follow or some message to beat into you -- it's just action. Non-stop action. It's a true action-movie.

There is a story, even a continuing multi movie story. The genius though is that it doesn't get in the way of the action, and it's completely optional to the audience. You want a one and done, it works, you want a continuing story it works, you just want amazing visuals, dudes playing electric guitars riding into glorious post-apocalyptic car battle it works.

Yep, it's also a very feminist movie, but does it in a smart way that doesn't insult the audience's intelligence, as well as "subverting expectations" intelligently, something Ryan Johnson can only dream of...

The TLJ slo-mo "chase" reminded me of the FR one. But of course we know which was better. :D
