Slightly off topic but I saw the game on sale on Steam and was wondering if it's worth picking up. I'm nearly 40 and can't play much games due to time, I prefer quick burst games that relieves stress like a round of Tekken or Need for Speed or story based games that like meaningful themes like Shadow of the Callouses, the Last of Us etc and I'm not really into the "fad" games that people play and forget the next year, I wonder where does Cyberpunk lies? Is the story meaningful enough to invest the long hours?

I might be a bit biased since I love the futuristic cyberpunk theme. CP is not a "fad" game by any means, in fact it got a ton of crap when it was first released. I'm an older gamer myself (mid 30's), so for me personally the story had a lot of meaning, and seems to be aimed more towards adults. So heads up, if you have kids, keep them far, far away when you're playing this. lol
I've invested around 430hrs into it and still playing every now and then. The main story and main character side quests are about 20-40hrs or so. But that varies quite a bit, since you'll be playing it in your own way with your own character build.
And also, yes, it's a very good stress reliever too. lol
*edit: If you have a high end PC, then thats the version to get. 2nd option being the PS5.
Just avoid the PS4 version...

One last thing, go Nomad. Best intro to the game in my opinion!

If you're getting it on PC during sale I would say it's worth it yeah, the game got a lot of deserved hate for it's broken state when it launched but it also got a ton of hate thrown at every other thing in it that was actually good like the story, characters, soundtrack, ambience and design...

In my opinion I quite enjoyed the story and it's themes of death and dealing with it and despite Keanu seeming like a marketing ploy in the beginning I found myself really liking his character of Johnny Silverhand and the dynamic of him and V, granted he is a massive fine fellow a lot of the time.

Some of the game's most interesting and strongest moments are provided in the side gigs too so don't just plow through the main story which isn't that long, it can be a great way to relieve stress just doing some really fun side gigs too if you're not interested in solving murder cases and getting involved in political networks which are way out of your depth.

So yeah I'd say grab it on PC if you can, the game has a very strong start and great main journey with V and Johnny and can be a blast if you want it too, especially with mods.

Ah thats too bad. I actually think Panam and Judy would sell much better than Silverhand, but Lim's precaution on what to make and not make next is understandable. The collector market is crazy unpredictable these days.
I was pretty undecided on Silverhand, but ultimately decided to pick one up after all. CP2077 has become one of my favourite games since Perfect Dark and Goldeneye (N64 era). So Silverhand was one those figures that I would've really kicked myself for if I ended up losing out on it.
Same, as a video game guy I can't pass on it despite it having a lot of things I don't like about it but at the end of the day it's quite possibly the only Johnny 1/6 figure that will ever get made and in a good pose with the aviators on it will still look good on the shelf.

Definitely worth picking the game up. Main story is truly fantastic albeit a little short. Side quests are pretty well done so you can get some good satisfaction crammed in if you’re only playing it intermittently. It’s a game that fits the bill whether you’re in it for the story or just sporadic bursts of 20 minute play sessions. I think my first play through totaled about 75 hours at a leisurely pace and there was rarely a dull moment besides the occasional “drive around aimlessly while following the law” which would always end after 2 minutes and one too many pedestrians on the sidewalk :)

Being a PSYCHOPATH in Cyberpunk 2077

Hey thanks guys! Sounds encouraging, I think I'll pick it up on Steam. I think as I'm getting older I'm very selective with the games I play because I think time is super precious as we age, same reason I stopped watching Marvel and DC movies despite loving them because I can't shake the feeling of finding the new ones being disposable entertainment, which is fine if you're young and looking to kill some time after a long day at work/school.

I'm actually gaming on a Steam Deck, which is a godsend if you're busy and can only game a few minutes at a time, I seriously recommenced getting one even if you already have a console or a PC setup. I'm currently playing Death Stranding and recently beat Bioshock for the first time and loved how meaningful the game felt, I'd kinda like to pursue games in that vein where the artistry takes precedence over making another AAA shooter that sells a bajillion copies.

Funny you mention the SD. Literally JUST got mine delivered this morning and spent all night watching tutorials and setting things up ready to finally play the original Final Fantasy 7 with some HD texture mod which includes a save anywhere function—I rarely play games in long enough sittings where the idea of specified save points are totally viable and am definitely with you in that quick-burst-stress-relief gaming camp, more often than not.
I’m in my young twenties but have a brain sucking desk job that makes sitting at a desk to play a game that much less appealing. Only touch my switch for the odd Nintendo exclusive but reading about what the SD can do seemed like a much more lucrative experience. So far it’s no disappointment, just wish the battery life was a bit better.

To let Snoopy and Asta know we are still behaving—I am curious to see how HT Johnny will look on a shelf next to PureArts’ V. Hoping the former doesn’t put the latter to complete shame; but I’m also guessing the wonderful extra work that @glitch1044 put into their V will help bridge any of those otherwise noticeable gaps in quality.

Wow, congrats! I had mine for over a month and I think it's changed my gaming habits for the better. I couldn't;d finish Death Stranding on consoles for almost 2 years because of work but on the SD I'm playing consistently thanks to being able to pick up and resume at any second any time of the day.

In case you didn't know (since a lot of people I've talked to don't)-- it can emulate nearly anything too, no hacks or jailbreaks needed, it's a machine made for consumers to do whatever they want.

Thank you!! A huge reason I actually got one is to emulate all the PS2 and DS games I grew up with but without having to compromise on the ability to switch to a more intensive title at any given point :rock Hoping to try out one of the Arkham games soon.

I played the game when the next gen patch came out and it was $30 I can tell you that I would have happily paid the full $60 after playing it. Dont know if this figure is worth getting tho..

100% worth it, despite all of the launch issues (that are now fixed) it's an amazing game and overall experience. The story has a lot of impact, humour, wholesome moments and a good few that cut quite deep. If you love great, well developed, real characters and rich lore/worldbuilding then it's a game for you.
There's definitely a meaningful theme throughout the story, although I don't want to delve into spoilers for you.

I played it on PS5 after alot of the issues were patched and I thought the game was fantastic

I played it on PS5 when it first launched, all the way through and got the platinum trophy. No joke, I tracked the # of crashes, and it crashed on my 86 times before I got the platinum trophy. Also experienced numerous other bugs. The world is beautiful (well, mostly inside the city) but the AI is garbage and nowhere near as dynamic as was promised. The story is well told and voice-acted though I think the narrative falls apart at the end and before long you realize that the pretty world of the game is quite hollow. There's really not much substance to it.

Your starting choice doesn't really matter and most of the intro story is told through a quick video compilation. It also does that thing I hate where the only real choice that affects the story takes place at the very end of the game. Meaning everything is narratively linear for the most part until you get to the one branch. Pretty lazy.

Am I the only one who played cyberpunk with the alternate look for johnny? I loved that more

I forgot to also recommend the anime show Cyberpunk Edgerunners which is just amazing and even better than the game in some ways for me.

Surprised to see so much praise for the games story in here, makes me want to give it a try. I hadn't heard great things about the game but may be worth a try. Doesn't help this figure is badass, PureArts Vs look very mediocre, and after getting their overpriced Dragonborn that I had to mod to look good, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

It's actually because of edgerunners that the game has been played again and with new updates related to the anime. Plus with all the fixes it's become a better game for sure. I personally love the game and dealt with the problems at the start and have replayed the fixed version for PS5 so I'm excited for the DLC Phantom Liberty and I'll definitely be getting this figure just wish we had a better V figure (both male and female) the pure arts one looks decent apart from the sculpts.
