BTW those armor changes are due to using real people in armor, not CGI.
Yup. But, they forgot the two chest stripes! Even on the set armor! Think it looks quite cool, this figure. Something more realistic, maybe not what we envision clone armor to properly look like though. But it’s the best rendition of a real clone trooper.

I feel they could've built the physical props to be more accurate to ROTS with some changes made to make them more practical to wear.

Including the hash marks on the chest and the design of the slits on the ab plate wouldn't really affect the functionality.

These were stylistic choices made by someone like the non functional changes made with the Rogue One TK armor.

Fans make ROTS accurate suits work so disney have no excuse. The changes are indeed intentional in order to replace lucas era designs.

No it’s not new, at least not for Light side Anakin. He comes with that hand so I’m pretty sure the original Dark side version does as well.

And while I’m glad to see a potential reissue of Dark Side Anakin, I agree with you. Would love to see Padawan Anakin with Kenobi. Was Kenobi a master at that point yet though? I thought he was still a Knight during AOTC and wasn’t a master rank until ROTS? Or am I taking your text too seriously and that was just reference to Anakin calling Kenobi “master”?? 😅
Dooku calls him "Master Kenobi".
I always write stuff with his voice in my head.😁

The possible reissue of Sith Anakin probably is most rational approach in order for these "allegedly V2 501st clones" to sell.

People who missed out on the 2018 exclusive version will have have a chance to acquire Sith Ani, and at least buying 2 - 4 new clones. The former Clone Wars version is too expensive now on the after market, evidently not feasible for army building to new collectors.

Win-win situation for both Hot Toys and new comers. Of course, IF that Sith Ani is actually being released :sneaky:

I don’t understand the hatred that people have for this figure. It’s toy/film making 101. Change the costume a little bit so you can make and sell new toys.

Yes, we get that but its just sheer laziness on the part of HT. People have been begging, screaming and pleading on bended knee for SO MANY troopers, not a single soul anywhere has said "Hey, HT are you releasing a "Kenobi" version of a 501st grunt? Be cooler if ya did."

Nobody.

Not one person.

We have more people requesting "Shazaam!" from ten years ago, than we do Teal Trooper.

This is why collectors are shouting "WHERE THE **** IS FIVES?!!!!" and throwing stuff around the room in frustration.

This. If fans have been able to make ROTS accurate costumes for over a decade, what’s the excuse for an official Star Wars project? Not to mention that they didn’t even bother to find actors of the same height to represent “clones”.

@Ramatuelle already covered the main point but to add, the issues I have is that:

1. It takes away a figure slot. They can only produce so many figures a year. They also don’t like a ton of overlap so this probably occupies a Clone army builder slot on the calendar.

2. They put a weird amount of resources into recreating all the (kind of unsightly personally) changes made to the OWK props. But they cut corners with other figures.

3. If they were going to tool up new parts for a Clone anyway, there are far more interesting choices like the Commando, Scout, and Galactic Marine.

4. On that note, it also feels tone deaf that this gets prioritized over other Clones like the previewed but MIA 212th and 212th Airborne (which might as well be for ROTS 20th at this point) and the rest of Clone Force 99.

Okay it’s not really hate but I really don’t like what this figure is. :lol

I really dont like that new DC 15? blaster either, my eye is used to the other one and now Im turning into some curmudgeon screaming at kids to get off my damn lawn or something

What baffles me is why they still haven't released the Death Star Trooper.
I mean he's a trooper which pleases us trooper collectors, and his face is exposed which pleases those collectors who are into facial nudity.

Probably comes down to which face to use.

Temuera Morrison......

I am kinda not kidding. If face of a clone it can be sold as an army builder and for anyone wanting a non clone they can just head swap any compatible head. If might sell more that way
Then what movie do they release it under? You never see a Clone Death Star Trooper in any of them.

I don't think the indentations in the ab armor and design of cod piece in CGI make it unwearable. So, yes, it's a stylistic choice by showrunners. On the other hand, it's weird. Unlike RO STs which are different soldiers than seen in OT and it's possible they wear different armors, the clones in OBK are the exact same clones that climbed the stairs with Anakin in ROTS.

It seems like they changed parts and repainted their armors on top of the stairs during their resting break prior to temple assault.
