Had to fix it. :lol

Cut the leather cord along the length. This time I used a single long strip, equal in length to the string, and tied smaller strips of leather along it to create the knots. I also taped the cord and string together at each end, making it easier to tuck into the armor and preventing the ends from fraying or bending.

That looks great. I might need to do something like that next. Thanks for the inspiration!

Ordered the last one of these from sugo, a local importer. Love P2 and even did the model kit from halcyon when I was alot younger. What a great piece! The pose, the options are really awesome. Being an older statue, I looked for any decal issues reported here, but happy to say he is holding up. (For now) Will post a pic or two soon. Mine is 72/400 so regular edition

Good to hear - congrats!

I sealed mine so I don't have to worry about the decals anymore.

So all you happy buggers ended up costing me another chunk of money :lol

Just ordered the EX from Shane at Secret Compass.

Let's hope PRIME1's QC on this matches what I got with the 1:3.5 BGCA Predator :panic:

.
Good luck with your copy, it really is an an awesome piece. That’s why we are all freaks, to be “enabled”

I knew you'd eventually cave and order this one. I know you'll like it (Although nothing is going to compare to that P1 you just received) I do look forwards to hearing you opinions on this vs the Infinity City Hunter...

I have this and the infinity studios city hunter and i love both. I will say get intouch with Goonsack steve as he has a friend who makes a stand for the spare head and i have to say its a very nice addition and looks like it come with the prime 1 city hunter. U def wont be disappointed. 👍

Thanks - I saw Steve's YouTube review - and one of the comments included a Facebook link for that. Unfortunately, the link doesn't work unless you're signed-in and I don't do Facebook.

Do you have a pic of the stand you could share here?

There was also someone HERE that did a stand . . . I'll have to try to track that down too.

.

Oh yeah - I remember that one - there was another one as well (besides the newest that @marsredv6 has just mentioned).

Thanks!

A member here [Goonsack Steve] also made custom stands, and was taking orders for it.[Over at statue forum, go to the prime 1 studios Predator 2 City Hunter thread, and on page 85, you'll see his custom stand there]. :)

Yes, just ordered one from John a week ago, luckily he is making them once again. Should have it in a couple of weeks. Can’t wait!

I love this guy! I didn’t know there was a thread about him. I never understood why so few seemed to care about him. I even love his mountable wall stand. I’ve seen others act like such an idea is sacrilegious, but I think it’s perfect for this figure.

So THIS wee beastie turned up today . . . just 9 days after being shipped :joy

Not in as perfect condition as the 1:3.5 “Big Game Cover Art” (Jungle Hunter) Predator was, but nothing that merits any real complaints or compensation claims.

As with the BGCA JH, the shipping box (due to careful handling by USPS & Canada Post) arrived in pretty much perfect condition, ditto the art box.

Everything slotted together pretty well (after a bit of “playing”), and there were no miss-matched magnets.

The only issues we had (in order of seriousness):
  1. The unmasked head had THREE of the pointed ridges where parts of the black decal were missing - one almost completely. Easily fixed with a sharpie.
  2. The magnet on the masked head is a little weak (perhaps buried too deep in the neck). Annoyingly, this head is also a less secure fit, and causes some abrasion on the top left of his collar when pressing into place (this is hidden by the dreds when fully in place).
  3. A tiny part of the decal on his outside right leg, just above the knee armour, was missing. Again, this was supposed to be black, so was easily fixed with a sharpie.
  4. The peg in the right foot that slots into the base was too tight a fit, so I had to use a rats-tail file to make the circular peg socket a little bigger. Then added a bit of vaseline for safety and got a perfect/secure fit.
So . . . all-in-all . . . perfectly happy, and no way would I be cheeky enough to ask for a partial refund for what were/are relatively minor issues, and I certainly wouldn’t ask for a replacement given some of the horror stories out there! 😲

First impressions:
  1. A REALLY nice piece.
  2. It was bought primarily for the masked head portrait, which (as others have said) is EASILY the most accurate mass-produced P2 mask sculpt so far made.
  3. The paint (bypassing the decal issues above) is a better colour match than the Infinity Studios piece - the colours are darker and more movie-accurate.
  4. Not as positive an initial impact as the PRIME1 BGCA JH or the IS CH had on opening, but absolutely ZERO regrets as regards the purchase, and LOVE the way this looks when (ultimately) wall mounted.
  5. Overall, of the 2 P2’s, the IS piece wins because of the general attention to detail (including the leather straps that are missing on the PRIME1 piece), the pose, and its overall presence.

Ours will be displayed with the masked head, but it looks like (thanks to the advice of multiple people here :) ) we’ll be picking up a couple of "Johnny Norman's" head stands (kindly facilitated by our own @Goonsack Steve :wink1: ) for:
  • The PRIME1 unmasked head.
  • The Infinity Studios masked head.

Thanks again to:
  • Everybody here & elsewhere that eventually made me brave enough to risk getting this.
  • Shane at Secret Compass for processing the order so quickly, and matching all my needs as regards the purchase.
  • And ESPECIALLY our boy Matt (@Python) - without whom, I NEVER would have gone through with this.

Nicely done fellas! :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :hi5: :duff :banana :banana :banana :bunnydanc :bunnydanc :bunnydanc
