We need to start getting to the essential stuff now. I'm sure it's a lot of dealing with sculpts being signed off on etc but we're almost 2 years into Exo6 and we don't have the following....

Original Series Bridge Crew = 0
Original Movies Bridge Crew = 0
TNG Series Bridge Crew = 0
TNG Movie Bridge Crew = 2 (which were the original 2 releases)

All the niche episode specific figures are cool but if there is a 5 year time limit on these releases, It needs to start ramping up with the big guns.

No we don't. Trust the process, Nanjin knows what he is doing. We will get to those when it is time. Have patience.

Except that you already have Mirror Spock, Mirror Sulu, FC Picard and FC Data.

Please don't try to speak to others in saying what is 'essential'. For me as an example 'essential' is the Voyager crew, but I'm not going to project that in a generalised statement.

By my reckoning there has been:
2 TOS
3 TNG
1 DS9
4 VOY
2 DSC

So far, with many more on the way. That's in 18 months, while also constantly revising and improving the production process.

Last year Exo-6 released 4 figures.

This year they've released/opened pre-orders for 8 and we're not even through the year.

Have faith, start saving.

I agree 100%. That's why I still haven't sold off my QMX figures. No one can foretell the future.

Trust but verify, as the saying goes. I perfectly understand the process and the reasons behind it. Hairyhoff's points are still valid. I don't count the "Mirror, Mirror" figures as original series bridge crew, as we all understand that what is meant is the "regular series" crew members. Same goes for TNG.

Personally, I'm loving all of these currently announced and released figures. Aside from the Discovery figures, I've been all in. But TOS and TNG are my favorite of the Trek shows and we yet to have a regular crew member officially announced or go on pre-order.

I understand what you're saying. But we have seen prototypes of TOS and TNG bridge crew. So they ARE coming.
Imagine how it felt for me, a DS9 lover first and foremost, to be told by QMx that we'd NEVER get past TNG. So getting this kind of variety is like a dream come true.

Wow. I don’t remember them saying that. I can understand it but I didn’t know they said it out loud. Boy did Nanjin prove that theory (that only TOS & TNG 1/6 would sell) wrong. Thankfully Nanjin wasn’t afraid to try.

At some point, QMx was trying to compromise everything I was doing. First destroy Scotty and Sulu, then keep everyone hanging in mid air so the reputation of 1/6 Trek could be destroyed. Then humiliated me as an example for everyone to see in the company.

No one dared to sit with me at a restaurant "away" from sdcc except one.

So don't blame me for any screw up on TOS.

The way I see it for my collection wants, there are 47 figures minimum of the core crews I want (not including new Trek although I will buy Disco, SNW & now the TNG crew are returning, I'll buy at least 8 from Picard season 3)

These are the basic for me
TOS 7 (Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Chekov, Sulu)
TWOK or TUC 7 (as above)
TNG 7 (Picard, Riker, Troi, La Forge, Data, Worf, Crusher)
DS9 10 (Sisko, Kira, Jadzia, O'Brien, Odo, Bashir, Quark, Jake, Worf, Ezri)
VOY 9 (Janeway, EMH, 7, Tuvok, Chakotay, Paris, Neelix, Kim, Be'lanna)
ENT 7 (Archer, T'Pol, Trip, Phlox, Hoshi, Reed, Mayweather)

So far we have 5 either out or on preorder.
9 more have been previewed as prototypes. That's 14 out of the 47, in the first 18 months. I think that's pretty good going. Especially considering covid, factory shutdowns, shipping crisis and that EXO-6 is a brand new company.
Of course ideally I want loads of non core characters too, like Guinan, Gorn, Garak, Chang, Dukat & Shran for example.
Have faith.
We will very likely get more than we can keep up with lol. Let's enjoy the ride.

I saw prototypes for TWOK and TNG from QMX——- They NEVER came.
The current pace doesn’t seem to be on track for a 5 year mission. So that is why I am anxious. While most of what I’ve seen so far is impressive works they are not the characters that interest this old timer. I’ve yet to spend a cent on EXO-6. “Saving” —- Not a problem so far.

We are 20 months in and the franchise’s most iconic character has yet to be made available in any form or uniform.

I really don’t see 70% of TOS being ruined by any means. You either have collectors who bought QMX and were unhappy with the result, therefore eagerly awaiting your superior product. Or, those who didn’t purchase QMX products and are still eagerly awaiting your TOS figures! Either way, your figures will dominate TOS collections.

What's the best seller in TOS? They flooded thr market with Kirk, Spock, and the Chair.

Star Trek is not Batman. I can only sell less than what QMx sold.

Look deeper. All hard goods had to re do from scratch. How many phaser QMx sold 10k 20k? How much it cost to make mold? The phasers practically free by the time they start selling McCoy.

I have less than 70% of the cost leverage. You want to invest? I don't mind you spend the money and I work for you. How about you fund all the TOS molds?

You saw something I couldn't see? Tell me how to solve production leverage when TOS market is half filled. Will you buy the same figure as QMx for $230 with less items?

I do have a strategy to remedy QMx. Is to destroy QMx TOS and make them worthless so my version can replace them. You want me to do this? I don't mind, and it is the easiest way out and can maximize my profit.

When I consider for others. I will be blamed. This is Trek this is Fandom.

This platform is becoming toxic like every producers told me. Like they said, it was the fans that made them leave any forum or discussions and I would eventually stay away.

They are absolutely right.

This place starting to make me want to quit.. like both Mr Chan said, the conflict of interest between deceloper and collector there is no room in middle ground.

Which one is that? Kirk? He's hardly the most iconic.
The most iconic, well known characters in pop culture are as follows: Spock, Picard, Data, and Seven. All of whom have had versions released by Exo6. Classic Picard and Spock from QMX.
Exo6 has to make money. Most collectors, like me, aren't going to rush out to quickly buy a second version of figures QMX made just a few years ago. It would be foolish to expect that.
It's not ideal, but from a business standpoint it's the only one that makes sense.

What's your source that these are to top 4? Google only agrees with you on two of them.

This article from The Wrap agrees with 3 of your picks.

But both lists have Kirk, yours does not.

As to what Nanjin said. These forums have become more toxic recently. Every forum contains the same thing. I wouldn't blame him for leaving.

Nanjin, nothing toxic about my comment. And to answer your question, YES, I would gladly buy the superior product from you versus the inferior product, whoever made it. I’m not talking about a chair, or phasers, just the bridge crew standing on their own merit.

Yes, QMX beat you to market with their versions, but according to your many posts, you are doing this for Trek fans, for yourself, your former associate, etc., not for the money. This is your legacy, proceed however you please, but I think many collectors would rather have your product.

I guess I was thinking of Kirk as played by Shatner. Kirk as a character is more memorable, but Shatner hasn't played Kirk since 1995. These days I think people age 30 or younger might picture Chris Pine first, or now Paul Wesley if his version takes off.

They said it to me at their booth at SDCC 2012, when I asked when we'd get a Sisko.
Needless to say, I was pretty heartbroken.
