The DX15 is easily one of the top figures in my collection. And to think that I had it for sale a couple of years ago, there was no interest so I decided to just keep it. Fourtunate that it worked out that way...
Something similar happened to me back when I lost my old job and was trying to sell my collection. Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors, so I have all of his figures. NO BODY wanted any of them (outside of super low prices-I think Tonto was going for like avg $130 at the time) including neither of my DX Jack Sparrows. But I'm glad no one bought them b/c I would've hated having to track them down. The only one I did manage to sell was Edward Scissorhands which I don't mind too much seeing as how that didn't have Depp's likeness.

I had to sell my original DX Jack years ago, and the aftermarket prices skyrocketed beyond my reach, so I was ecstatic when this was announced, not only a chance to get Jack back in my collection, but an upgraded one at that. I felt even luckier when some of the key parts of my original figure were attainable still, like the Medicom hat.

Does anyone know if the figure is supposed to have their boot "straps" untied? I am curious if the default for this figure is untied straps above the boot, or if it comes strapped.

Thanks!

For Dead Men Tell No Tells, the straps on the lower part of his pants (if that's what you're actually referring to) are supposed to be undone and not stuffed into the top of the boots. In all other movies they are tied (buckled) and tucked into his boots.

Also, as @Entropy has noted, there is a thread already for the DX15, so no need to create a new one just for a question that could've been asked there. Also, when creating a new thread, try to give the thread a proper title and not one that seems sort of vague or misleading (y) This current thread title makes it seem like you're creating a brand new thread dedicated to the DX15 (after years release) when we've had one for years in the Disney Section.

Actually, the tucked look was only in Curse, from DMC forward, he had the untucked look.

We’re sort of both right as the bottom of his pants are tucked into the boots on the inside pant leg in DMC and AWE but the straps and button outter side are untucked in many of the shots. OST had them completely tucked in at times and then like DMC and AWE at other times. Though I believe they were completely untucked in DMTNT

Without pics to support this post...

I received my DX15 today. I'm also an owner of the DX06. I love Captain Jack so very much that I paid a king's ransom for this one. I'd always wanted it, but missed out at the time it was selling for retail.

My quick reaction is that I'm completely underwhelmed.

It's not BAD, not at all...but seeing all those who've said this is an upgrade...I disagree. It's an upgrade in VERY few areas. I've just done the standard water treatment on the blouse and coat (waiting for them to dry).

Anyways, while I'm SUPER happy to finally have this in hand...at least for now I prefer my DX06.

Hope InArt gets the rights to make it. As far as I know Captain Jack is something he probably won't return to again and he's gotten old I don't want them to ruin him like they are doing to Indy.

Agree completely on all points. I was one of those hold outs who were keeping the faith that a final send off movie could still be a potential, but as time continues marching on, despite the unrealized potential left at the end of the last flick, the Black Pearl has most assuredly sailed off into the sunset. While an InArt piece would cost at least one chest of cursed Aztec gold to purchase, I would make that happen as their work, especially lately, has been stellar and they would do Capt. Jack proud.

Just picked up a Medicom figure via eBay for $120. looking to supplement my existing Sparrow figures!

Medicom RAH figure arrived today. I LOVE the coat, as well as the Tricorn and baldric buckle. Pics soon!

Also received a second set of DX15 headsculpts. Having so much fun!
