Yea I was reposing my Han a couple days ago while putting some leather protectant on the boots and such and was wondering what and where the little white fuzzy dust was coming from on the vest. I just wiped it off but I thought it was some weird left over superglue "dust" from gluing the neck adapter into the Jnix sculpt. That's probably way wrong though :lol

Those Dooku boots look really good on your Han @TaliBane :clap Even though I don't mind the stock boots, I was noticing the odd creases at the ankles.

RE: the shirt collar changing color - I kept the wire in, just used some spray-n-wash and detergent to hand washed the shirt. That seemed to work for me. It hasn't changed color again since and that was within the first year of its release.
Yeah, it took me forever to actually realize it was coming back over and over, it was so subtle and pretty slow I thought I just didn't get all of it the last time I wiped it.

And thanks, yeah the Dooku boots look very much like real leather boots. What doesn't quite come across in that kinda weak pic above is that this customized figure looks very much like a shrunken down HF/Han Solo, like a little living person the way the HT Tarkin does, lamost a little eerie. I didn't like any of the other versions of the Jnix Harrison Ford head (as ESB, as Indy etc) but this head is just so good. It somehow perfectly captures the essence of Han in ANH better than anything I've ever seen at any scale.
Mine's gone yellowy-orange, same as the strip on the Bank Robber Joker's shirt where the buttons are.

It's got to be the glue seeping through.

While it's annoying, because the stock figure has changed in an unwanted way, it doesn't actually stand out as being really wrong. On both figures it sort of looks like a grubby sweat stain.

I don't have any white fuzz on the vest, but that does sound like mildew. I've had it previously on figures, before I controlled the humidity.

It seemed to like the pleather on ACI's gladiators, and was pretty bad on the great coats of my two BBK Jonah Hex figures. However, with the latter I'd used water treatment to shape the cape on the coat, so the dampness probably just accelerated the mildew growth, and then the spores spread.

To clean it off I used a non-bleach anti-mould spray. I sprayed it onto a cloth, and wiped the cloth over the affected areas.
Yeah, I'd have to assume that's what it was. I thought about using the non-bleach stuff but this fuzz has been so persistent I wanted this to be the a-bomb treatment that nothing could survive. I'd just gotten tired of taking the vest off.

It was a pain to have to dye it black again (it went dark brown, still black in places) but I'd already created Greedo's vest from a HT Han vest, so it wasn't a huge deal. The redyed vest actually looks a bit more like a "real" vest than it did before, maybe because the black isn't quite as uniform.

I had a theory that the white stuff was somehow linked to those crayon fabric marks they use at the factory (that Leia Hoth famously had visible on some figs) - it's on the inside of the fabric, but who knows. Hopefully I've seen the last of it.

I keep humidity absorbers behind all the displays and run a dehunidiier whenever the humidty gets higher but I guess humidity is impossible to fully get rid of.

So the vest even changed colour. That's pretty drastic.

With the non-bleach spray I don't take anything off the figure, but spray onto a cloth and then wipe the affected areas.

My dehumidifier runs all the time. When it's not dehumidifying it's just blowing air from the fan, which also helps prevent the static air that moulds like to grow in.

Yea, it's cool but also weird feeling when a figure looks so real on the shelf. My ANH Han and DX Jack Sparrow are probably the most real looking figures I own.

And I agree that the ANH Jnix sculpt is the best of the bunch and I think the reason for that is that he sculpted it for the ANH look first and then, after it got so much praise, he modified the hair and such for ESB and Indy. So those other modified ones have a younger Harrison Ford face for older Harrison Ford characters/movies.

By coincidence, I have the Jnix ANH Solo, Indiana Jones and Deckard sculpts and while I love them all, I think the Solo and Indy sculpts are equally the best with Deckard following close behind. These sculpts really elevated each of the figures to the point that they would be the last figures I would sell, if I had to trim down the collection.

It's been some time since I've seen or heard from Jnix. Curious if he is still involved with 1/6th scaled head sculpts.

For sure! The sculpt is incredibly detailed so it would be an upgrade for any figure. I admittedly don’t have the others, just going from what I’ve seen. I did see a nice TOD Indy paint up of his sculpt though that I thought was pretty excellent. Just based on his FB page, it seems like he just holds a poll and then reissues one of his previous sculpts based on what wins every do often. I haven’t been paying attention much for the last couple of months though b/c it got a little boring always seeing either the 2049 Gosling, Better Call Saul or Ras Al Ghul win those polls.

That’s pretty weird about the white mildew stuff appearing on the vest, haven’t noticed anything on mine yet but I will keep an eye out. Yet another bizarre Hot Toys long-term maintenance issue to worry about, I guess. I do run a dehumidifier in my collection room so hopefully that will continue to keep any such issues at bay. Regarding the yellowing of the collar, I used a capful of bleach diluted in water and applied with a cue tip to great success. I eventually sold that Han and bought another, and the collar on my second figure has shown no signs of yellowing so far so I wouldn’t assume it happens to each and every one of these.

I initially tried alcohol, then hand washing, then spray n wash and finally the shotgun approach - bleach and water. The bleach and water finally did the trick and returned it to the perfect shade of ivory like the rest of the shirt. Unfortunately as I was putting the shirt back on, I noticed a small section of the belt around his pants starting to flake off  What else can go wrong with this figure???

7 years late.....but I finally got this figure yesterday after trying to track him down at a reasonable price for a couple of years.

I love it!

I know the headsculpt is off, but the figure just has a certain quality to it. Very happy to finally have him in the collection.

Congrats, ZedBelkon. It is a definite must-have in a proper Star Wars collection. You definitely need Chewie, as well, if you can get him.

Pics or it didn't happen!

Lol, :D Congrats @ZedBelkon

Here he is with Chewie 🙂.

I favour a modified Force Awakens Chewbacca with mouth mod, some extra shading and replaced gun and strap (New Hope versions).

I still need to replace the stand and I do appreciate that he isn't really dark enough for New Hope, but the modified headsculpt edge's the original release (for me).

.....and here he is in the Star Wars display. Apologies for the quality of the pictures, rubbish camera on my mobile. I also have a Rogue One Vader, on my desk out of shot, otherwise that's all of my current 1/6 Star Wars. I tend to trade them in to keep to a two cabinet display (i have another detolf with a full set of vintage kenner figures in it too). Though I have got rid of lots over the years, the only one I really regret parting with is the Emperors guard. Sigh....cost a fortune now and I sold him cheap.

Next for the chop.......Force Awakens Han, the last thing that I own from the sequels!

Love your set up, looks superb.

Which Vader is that in the case?

Look how you dress your only female representation on the shelf.

My man!!! :hi5:
Ha ha, there is a fully dressed Leia in there too 🙂

To be fair, if you ignore Disney Star Wars, and I mostly try to, there isn't an awful lot of choice when it comes to women!
