Jude Law to Star in Jon Watts’ ‘Star Wars’ Series

Excerpt:
The announcement was made at Star Wars Celebration which also saw Watts’ series, which was operating code-named Grammar Rodeo, given an official title — Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.

The series has been in rumoured on Star Wars fan sites for months, while Law joining the Star Wars universe surfaced in April. A recent Vanity Fair story on the state of Star Wars confirmed the Watts series, noting Grammar Rodeo is reference to an episode of The Simpsons in which Bart and his schoolmates steal a car and run away for a week under the pretext of going to a school event. It was also described as being in the tone of a classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure film of the 1980s.

Those details were not far off, as Thursday’s Lucasfilm panel also revealed a few more: the story is set in the New Republic era, and tells of a group of kids lost in the Star Wars galaxy trying to find their way home.

I'm suddenly less enthusiastic lol...

First they waste him in the MCU by having him play a literal who in Carl Manvers' solo. Now they waste him in SW. Last I heard he was going to play the main Jedi in a High Republic series. What is this ********? He'll either be a boring Jedi OC teacher running after some kids to take them to Luke's academy or something, or he'll be Not!Solo and nothing more than a cliche rugged father figure space pirate/smuggler/whatever. With Watts and Filoni involved, I'm expecting the worst of TCW but tenfold.

I swear to God, I'm close to giving it all up. I'll grab a Doom, the FF, some X-Men and that'll be it. They waste all of my favourite actors, meanwhile I'm getting **** like Manletmor and Clown Kang. I'm even hearing rumours that they didn't even get Denzel for Blue Marvel, but instead a 30-something literal who.

I hate all of this...

Star Wars is for dumb kids my guy.
N-No it's for moderately smart adults stuck in arrested development like m-me...

Now excuse me, but I have to make my 50th collage about dollies of characters that I've come to be indifferent towards, based on properties that I no longer recognise and get any enjoyment out of, simply because of my addictive completionist personality.
