This still available at retail from anywhere? Missed it before, bit sad I did and wondering if I can still get my hands on one.

A friend asked me if the figure is worth the secondary market price from sellers.

The production run was not large compared to others. The production design and quality is typical for BLITZWAY. As for the "must have it" factor, it depends on how big a fan one is of Antonio Banderas as the character.

As with almost everything, there is likely wiggle room for pricing depending on the seller (i.e., desperation of the seller to sell because the seller needs the money and desperation of the buyer to buy because the buyer really wants it).

Spoiler Spoiler:
LOL I love that this came up here. I thought it was a terrific nod.
My impression was the new collar worked for a more strapped together starting out Batman, to subtly reference the old Gothic and pulp silhouettes, Dracula and of course Zorro.
Without having the theater origin, I felt if we were going to get a Zorro nod, that was it.
68zur3.gif

Yet while not depicted, the death of his parents origin still become a significant part of the narrative.
Especially through Falcone.
So that he is the one to utter the name Zorro, becomes significant.

With Falcone's random seemingly throwaway line, Zorro becomes an acknowledged (fictional) character in universe.
While it's not necessary to the plot, if you are compelled to speculate on the theater they were coming form when they were murdered (if that's the case), it allows for it to likley have been a Zorro movie.

There are groups and theaters which do "silent" theater revivals with live orchestras - The Mark of Zorro — Not So Silent Cinema
And not surprisingly the movie still holds up, almost everything we see today in modern superhero films, was already established there. So yeah even a kid today could be inspired.

Further besides just being a throwaway easteregg, while it's not at all necessary to the plot or character, if you want, you can read even further into it.
Implication being if Falcone is indeed the one who set up Bruce's parents to be killed, he would have known where they and young Bruce were coming from that night, and that the last thing Bruce saw the night they were murdered, was Zorro.

Falcone's implied reference, becomes more significant, as he could even have been letting Batman know, that he knows who he is.

I think the upcoming TB Batman figure will look great alongside Zorro, in my opinion.

I might get one. I really liked Pattinson as Batman, and the set-up, yet some elements and the movie's last act was a laughable mess, I do like the character, and look well enough.
Curious how they would look together.

And yeah, especially once Falocone name dropped Zorro! :wink1:

Another nice review (not sure if he posts here?) with the right futzing, rebuts the unfortunate no neck pics circulating.
Also features a curious comparison with a converted (QMX?) Princess bride dread pirate Westley, I'd never seen.

I do like the Blitzway Banderas more. Yet actually prefer (as per his custom) for Zorro to have the mask that comes down to the tip of the nose, and always with a mustache!

Not sure if any here caught the muy melodramatico Zorro Telenovela? Zorro used essentially the Banderas costume and gear, but wore the mask down to the nose, and had a legit mustache. Oddly as outrages as the the story was , this Zorro was almost ideal (for me).
If I ever get another I might try a custom Telenovela Zorro. :wink1:

Haven't seen that telenovela,
It's a bizarre experience, (I do speak Spanish) yet I'd never watched a Telenovela, apparently the formula is ep 1. boy meets girl, ep.2 introduce every scenario imaginable (and they do mean everything whether it makes sense or not) melodramatic reason to keep them apart.
Although somehow it works :lol
You have to be willing to surrender to allot of nonsensical narrative elements. And know the name of the show is Zorro La Espada y La Rosa, she is La Rosa, and the star, Zorro is really just there to move her plot along.
And the action that is there tends to be fun but hokey
I'll give them one thing though, they gave Zorro back his more McCulley pulp era pistolas and skill (although they look like revolvers not black powder single shot pistols :slap)
Telenovela

but I keep hearing mumblings of a new Zorro show in the works.
Yeah with all the heroes Disney has since acquired, after over 50 years Disney's first masked adventure hero Zorro, is apparently finally returning back to Disney TV.
Although staring Wilmer Valderrama who would not have been my first choice.
Although I'm curious to see what they come up with. Apparently (for better or worse) they are taking a somewhat telenovela(ish) approach.

I'd love to see a Pedro Pascal led take on an older Zorro wrestling with his legacy and ability to keep fighting for justice.

There was also a Lady Zorro show in development at one point, not sure if that faded away or put on hold.

Oh yeah, Pascal as Zorro would have been great.
I remember well before Mando, just after his Game of Thrones appearance, suggesting him for a more historic Murieta like Zorro.
Another interesting Pedro Pascal connection, is the legend of Joaquin Murieta who Zorro is somewhat based on.

...
U6topZA.jpg

Joaquin Murieta - according to his first "biographer" John Rollin Ridge - was a Chilean ex-pat who was living in Mexico/California at the time.
As is Pedro Pascal.

I would love it if Pedro Pascal was cast in ..... more classic Zorro, set in 1800s, using the origin written by Allende.
Oddly enough Disney envisioned Pedro Pascal as a somewhat different cape and "masked" wandering hero, ... with a sword!

Yeah good review! Yeah that converted QMX Westley looked pretty good.

Funny you mentioned that telenovela, I've actually watched a big portion of it :lol While for me it was under par, I did enjoy it for what it is.

Yes! Despite the show, a figure of it would look awesome! I was surprised to see the outfit is identical to Banderas' suit.

Agreed, the novela was pretty much a typical telenovela with the Zorro brand put on where the main plot is the love story. I actually liked most of the characters, and I thought the actor portraying Zorro did a fairly good job and looked the part. I actually liked how he has to play a demure klutz for his "normal" life, similar to Superman's Clark Kent. But yeah I wished Zorro was the main focus of the show, but then again it is a telenovela haha. Agreed the action was a bit hokey and lackluster. Then again the production wasn't as big and they could only work with so much. (Apologies for criticizing the show.)

Man, a new, revamped Zorro would be most awesome! :rock

Agreed!

Also, on a related note, I pre-ordered a 1/6 black horse (the Mr.Z one, I think you mentioned it a page back) from BBTS and I now have it in my PoL, so I'm looking forward to having him alongside Zorro!!! :panic: I neeed a 1/6 saddle now though :lol

(let me know if these pics are opening. site?)
Mr. Z is now selling and showcasing their 1/6 black Arabian, posed with Zorro, they do look great together, although not the most dynamic pose, and he really needs all black tack and saddle.
He seems a bit closer to the Disney era Tornado in scale.
I think their 1/6 Shire Horse is closer to the scale and grooming of the Friesian (Andaluz) version of Tornado seen in Mask.

Anyone put him on a horse yet?

I only found these two reviews for the Mr. Z horse, and based on them I think it looks pretty dang good! Looks to be nicely detailed especially given the cost. Even with the promo pics, it looks huge (the box too) in the videos!

The reviewer even compares the horse to the HT FFH Spidey in their video for good measure :lol

[...]

Yeah, Torando is essentially his Batmobile, almost as iconic as the character himself, yet (for me) it's that large step in crossing that expanding your collection space to the next level, once I get a horse, I'm afraid the vehicle flood gates will need to open. Although the one showcased above seems pretty compact.

[...]

Agree, Tornado is like the Batmobile. Yeah 1/6 vehicles can be pretty spacey! Even though he can be viewed as a 'vehicle' for Zorro I'll just see him as another character :lol

Hmm, correct me if I'm wrong, the slicked back hair on the unmasked head sculpt was in reference to when he wore formal suits (albeit he wore facial hair). I only recall his hair looking messy when he removes his mask lol

True, except as you indicate he doesn't have the facial hair.
And yes his hair is pretty wild when he pulls off his mask...

Not so slick as the unmasked figure sculpt.
I think they were just going for a generic unmasked look.

Which I think they captured, and works fine for me.
I actually prefer his expression in the unmasked look, over the more cocky smile of the masked version.
Wish I could switch the mask over to the more serious sculpt.

Yeah, as hokey as it was I still enjoyed it. Also telenovela style eps are turned out daily, so I expected a level of quick somewhat lower production.
Plots lines were often hysterical over dramatic, often meandering and anachronistic to the time and landscape.:lol
Once you surrender to all that it was quite fun.(though It was my first and only telenovela)

I liked his take on Diego, less effete than the Fairbanks or Tyrone Powers versions, and more bookish and charmingly awkward and romatic, more like the Disney Guy Williams version, which is the take I prefer for the Diego persona.

If I ever come into an extra head-sculpt I might try to customize a Christian Meier version, with mustache and soulpatch :wink1:
And yes give him the twin revolvers pistolas!

While I do like the expression of the masked/hatted head sculpt, it would've been even better if they included an extra stern masked head.

Yep! The show's about 122 episodes if I recall, which seems unnecessarily drawn out. They could've cut it down to about half and had a more concise story.

Yeah his take was very fitting for the character I reckon. Banderas' film was the first to introduce me to the character, and I still need to familiarize myself with the preceding Zorros

Yeah a custom Meier sculpt would be great! Though I'm not aware of the actor's respective heights, CM looked a bit bigger than AB to my eye, so perhaps a body swap may be needed.
