Finally got a chance to pose him up. Definitely the perfect gambit for me in terms of the looks department. Agree with everyone else tho when it comes to snapping out hands. A total sh** show and straight up defect lol would recommend taking the hair off too while posing and snapping parts in to reduce the risk of damaging. Overall super happy with the display can’t wait for them to do more!

Just got to unboxing mine earlier tonight and I'm loving it! Such a solid figure for a 3rd party company! Also happy to report there were no broken effect pieces with mine, so that's a relief.

The only surprise, I guess, was the trench coat material was a lot thinner than I expected it to be. Anyone thinks this coat will stand the test of time or will we start seeing it break down in about 1-2 years or so?

I've been waiting months for SooSoo to preview the next figures in this line.

I know right? They've teased a number of figures, but we've seen nothing. Then once it's announced and up for pre-order we have to wait another 10 months or so to get it in our hands. It's torture I tell yah!

If I had to speculate, this will peak at $700.00 to $800.00 USD as the top tier for a MIB/NRFB factory sealed condition by year's end short of a second run by Soosoo.

If anyone wants one, I have two to spare. $1,200.00 USD each shipped payable as USPS money orders only.

;) :p

I kid. I kid. I'm not that cruel.

Is that the smoker's lounge there with Gambit and Tyler Durden? Constantine wasn't invited?
Ha ha. Good catch. :lol
I actually thought of that as well. I thought of adding my Wolverine on that shelf.
And at first, was thinking, I should have him posed, smoking his cigar. Then I saw Tyler...well...I guess this is the smoking section of the display? lol

Love Gambits cig Remy! 😉
Thank you sir. :duff
Soosootoys should just announce a color variant or a straight rerelease. They leave alot of money on the table.

The variant release is actually a better alternative than just straight re-release. I really thought Hot toys made a mistake when they started to re-release
a lot of their expensive figures. At one point, there were many Hot Toys figures that were selling $1000 to $1500 cause people missed out, and if you want it, that's the price you have to pay to add it to your collection.
I think it would make more sense for people to Pre-order, and take a chance of not missing out on figures when you know if you pass, there's a chance the figures wont be attainable anymore. Plus that's really a lot of bragging rights for the company to have a lot of their figures sell out and sell at astronomical prices in the aftermarket.

Now, yeah, it sucks paying more when they sell out, but its still attainable. Sure it sucks paying more, but its not like before where unless you cough up a grand or more, you're out of luck.

I hope soosoo toys dont just re-release the figure. But instead, make a variant. Maybe the jacket would be green instead of brown. There are times where
Gambit's jacket is green. Also maybe the sculpt that has a different expression. Something that differentiate it from the first release where its acceptable for the people who were able to get the first release.

I know there are folks who missed out, but a rerelease would be a mistake IMO. I personally don't care if a company produces 500 figures or 5,000 because I never buy figures for resale value. However limiting production of the line adds to the perceived value and rarity, so people will PO SooSoo's future comic Marvel releases much faster. I'm sure if SooSoo releases a Wolverine that looks as good as Gambit, it will sell out in half the time if not quicker. Same with Rogue, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Magneto, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Captain America, etc. They would completely own that niche.

The other thing is SooSoo probably limits the production run to avoid having a big target on their back. Releasing a few hundred figures is probably small enough to simply be an annoyance to license holders like Sideshow. Flooding the market with 1,000+ figures would probably incur their wrath. Maybe SooSoo could get away with a color variant though.

You're going to take this personally.

You lie.

In years of collecting, experience taught me anyone posting/saying such is full of it.

Sure. In the beginning, it starts out that way. However, over time it changes in varying degrees for many.

Even if a collector buys just one to open, set up, keep for a while . . . when it comes to resale even for a previously owned figure that is highly prized/sought after . . . the lure of $ wins.

The preceding doesn't apply 100%, but it's a lot given the greed and stupidity factor nowadays.

Soosoo have been targeted previously to the point they had to go into stealth mode on social media and lay low due to attorneys from Disney & Warner Bros. making inquiries and going after them through distributors and vendors.

Soosoo's Gambit is somewhat a rarity in terms of how quickly it became so sought after plain and simple and those tempted by the lure of supposed easy $ will cash in on it.

If you're "offended", I apologize. I hope the context of the preceding clarifies what I posted. If not, then oh well.

For transparency, I buy in multiples (i.e., a case or more) of certain figures. Do I resell for profit? Yes . . . "IF" & "WHEN" I resell. I'm a 'hoarder". I buy and tend to sit on them for a long time before reselling or consume/use them over time. I'm a different kind of collector compared to those who buy for supposed immense profit by turning stock around fast. I play the long game.

I don't have any Soosoo Gambit, but if I did I'd probably sell them for close to 1K a piece if the demand and frenzy truly warrants it. Realistically, I may not sell any at that price, but I can afford to sit on them because I know what I invested in them for the long game that is "IF" I had any. Of course, I don't. So there.

Production run of all figures by all brands are fewer nowadays and the trend have been that way for a number of years. Production runs are no where near what they were from back in the day.

Dang "a case or more" :thud: That's definitely being a different kind of collector. Must have a good job and/or decent money to be able to do that regularly. No judgment whatsoever btw. We all collect in our own ways. Very interesting though.

I don’t take much of anything said on a forum personally, but your assumption is wrong. Everyone has their own motivations. These are action figures. I don’t purchase them as investments, I purchase them as collectibles. Sure I’d like to make a profit or at least break even if I sell something, but I’m also not surprised if I end up taking a loss. The market often falls out with figures when something new comes out or there’s a rerelease.

Your motivation is to buy multiples and flip for a profit. That’s fine. For me, selling these things is often a time consuming pain in the a**.

For clarity, I don't buy by the case (or more) on any/every figure. Just certain ones that I have an affinity for such as 1:6 female figures or certain military themed figures.

I buy singles, doubles, and triples of certain ones depending on the character, head sculpt, accessories, weapons, outfits, body, etc. from time to time. For example, I own doubles/triples of all Sideshow GI JOE ARAH figures. For troop building, six or more of all the COBRA "soldiers" (i.e., Troopers, Officers, Crimson Guardsman, etc.).

I've cut back considerably over the past five years because it's not worth the money or effort to simply accumulate. For those who actually "know" me personally within the 1:6 hobby, they can attest to my buying/collecting habits over the years.
