I was waiting for this release. The fact they're not offering a full Tony Stark head sculpt with this is criminal. It frustrates me that I HAVE to go aftermarket for such an iconic piece that's incomplete. What were they thinking?

As much as it pains me to say, I think Hot Toys should give up on Quarter Scale releases... it seems like there is just not that much of a market for them. Either that or try a 1/4 Cap or Thor to see if that breathes any life into the line. Otherwise, they should just stick to 1/6.

After selling all of my Hot Toys (1/6) with the exception of the three Spiderman from Homecoming I am thinking of jumping back in with the 1/4 line. I have 1/4 statues (Marks I, II and III by Sideshow) how do these Hot Toys compare to statues overall? Do these look like large toyish figures picked up from Target or Walmart? Do these have the look of a premium statue? I understand that statues and action figures have their strengths and weaknesses, but I am trying to avoid having these guys on the shelves and feel like they look cheap.

From everything I see in pictures and videos these guys look great, but was hoping to hear from those that have any quarter scale Hot Toys figures.

I have not preordered anything as this is a ways off and by the way things look these guys will get a pretty discount after it releases.

This release does look awesome! I had the 1/6 version previously and loved it.

Looking forward to your thoughts, thank you.

I quite like HT's QS line, very much so. I think they come across as high-end statues on display, yet they're huge, highly detailed, articulated figures.

My recent experience with the 1/4 HC Spider-Man was stupendous. Having the level of HT intricacy on a 1/4 figure is fantastic. I think it's a top-tier figure and it takes the level from 1/6 to 1/4 to the zenith, in my opinion.

My pics don't do the figure justice of course, but in person it looks glorious!

With the 1/6 FFH Spider-Man, I think I'd ultimately prefer the 1/4.

Hi!
I downsized a significant Marvel and Star Wars 1/6 collection last year, with a focus on the 1/4 scale Hot Toys lines. I picked up the Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Iron Man Mark III and Spider-man.

I think they are all great display pieces, and while their are little details that might not be 100% screen accurate, I tend not to see those.

I sold off Iron Man - Mark I through Mark VI and Mark 46 and the Hulkbuster, and was sad to see them go, but I needed to scrape up cash at the time to buy a house. I am more than content to rebuild that part of my collection in 1/4 scale. I have started picking up some of the 1/6 scale Star Wars again, as there are too many characters that will never get a 1/4 scale. I would hope Hot Toys could develop a line up similar to Sideshow Premium Formats in terms of depth, but it would take ages.

I love these big figures, and have pre-ordered the Mark IV with the gantry. I know it is hugely expensive, but it will be a great centerpiece. Hot Toys has a lot of resources with these existing figures to make the Mark II, VI, and VII at this point, and I would be floored if they put out Mark I and Mark V.
Sorry for the long post, wanted to share my thoughts and I hope this perspective helps!

Epic line-up!! :clap:clap

Been out of the game for a while but always wanted a 1/4 Mark IV. Anyone know if it's better to pre-order or hold out till the release these days? Cost/availability wise

1/4 scale figures - and figures in general these days - don't sell out very quickly so you can probably hold out and see if you can get a deal, depending on where you want to get it from.

Not that I think it's going to be heavily discounted or anything, but you can choose who has the best shipping rates, small discounts, coupons, etc. when the time comes. Better than being tied to a deposit somewhere.

Wait a few months after release and you'll see this for 10-20% off on Sideshow or for people selling it second hand for cheap. I saw the 1/4 Mark 3 sold for $450 multiple times.

These 1/4 figures do not sell. Don't bother preordering unless if for some reason you feel super compelled too.

Anyone knows if the deluxe set comes with the normal Base? Otherwise I'll have to get the two separately.

I wish HT would've got the gold trim detail on the ab section right. The top plate under the chest has it but it's barely there on the rest of the ab plates. Small details but there should no excuses at this scale.

Also, I'll have to find a 1/4 scale microphone and whiskey bottle since they're doing the helmeted sculpt.

Can’t recall the last time I saw a figure on preorder say low stock. A ploy?

For sure. These likely havent even hit production. Hot Toys is a commodity product now. Guaranteed you will see these on massive discount like every other 1/4 release they have had.

So, what are the odds that low stock warning on Sideshow for the standard is legit? Figured I had another 8+ months to jump on it.
