asmus boss: unwrap it all, give em hair and repaint them!! I want them all done by morning!!! now now now!! Have to look EXACTLY like the prototype pic!! :angrycanu

I don't pity or feel any empathy for @$MU$.

I do empathize with collectors who are getting screwed over by them, but how many of them still pulled the trigger "knowing" this is what they're able to do and get away with it and still decided to buy from them? Do collectors fitting that criteria deserve/earn our empathy or is a "SUCKS TO BE YOU." response more appropriate and brutally truthfully?

@$MU$ absolutely EARNED all of the contempt, disdain, and hate their way with this latest offering.

The reality is they'll weather through it and it'll still be business as usual for them because there will always be those who'll continue to buy from/support them.

Yes, 100% absolutely over the top.
At this point i dont know if you are troling, working for asmus or are from the asmus cult.
Theres henriettas without hair, not only one, all the costumer pics are bald, the one shown by asmus is the prototype and its not even close to the one shown by collectors.
So, a expensive product with total lack of quality control and a company doing mambo jambo to hide it.
Over the top? This is like buying a ferrari and reciving one without doors and unpainted, this figure cost nearly as a ps5 and it comes with stickers to patch it, and thats not even the worse problem.

I feel like that post 'may' have been in response to me, haha, so I will says this: No, I don't feel full pity or empathy for Asmus. I no longer have a pre-order for the figure, so I no longer have any sense of dread or disappointment about what I may have received from them. I just briefly felt a bit of pity for the people who have to respond on social media, as I have no idea if they are speaking on behalf of the person who made the creative decisions on the product or not.
I feel sorry for collectors who are receiving this product if it is not as advertised (which based on all the images so far, it definitely isn't) A release of this brand and price should be of high quality. If they are using prototype pictures and pretending they are unboxed images, that is really inexcusable, but it at least gives buyers a lot of evidence to use against the company.

Let's see. I've made like five posts in this thread, practically all of which say I am waiting to see more and better pics before deciding on my order. Never bought an Asmus figure before, and please go ahead and try to find a single post from me in any other Asmus thread. I still haven't even decided if I am keeping my order for this, as I have mentioned.

Your post I am quoting here, where you seem personally offended that someone else is saying they are still might want to buy this figure and that they think collectors are overreacting a bit since we've still only seen some very early and bad in-hand pics from like two collectors in the entire world, is what I mean by "over the top." Comparing a defective Ferrari to a $350 doll = over the top. And other people in here making like 40 posts in the past week about how bad they think it turned out and how they should pity anyone who actually decides to keep their order because they obviously can't tell when something is bad = over the top.

Honestly, no offense but posts like this are really everything I find to be the worst aspects about this hobby and community. I'll just keep my mouth shut going forward in here because I don't have the time or energy for this nonsense.
In general, the best way to post about dollies and toys on this forum is to focus on the product/company, not other members, and not to take critique or praise of a product or company as a personal affront of some kind. And I think that's the approach you've taken here. We're all human and miscommunication on a semi-anonymous message board is prone to go awry from time to time, but it is best if we can just live and let live.

I just think the reaction is not over the top for a high end product that cost 350 dollars.
2 collectors? I think theres more than 2, and even that, just 1 collector with a bald and unpainted henrietta is enough to be concerned.
Pobrably if Asmus didnt try to grenade smoke it and assume mistakes this would be a different sceneario. And by assume mistakes i mean do a clear unboxing and show pics of the whole real product, not close pics and prototype ones...
Anyway i hope they fix it, i love ash, im just concerned about quality control of a company that put a bold figure in the set and dont even notice it before sending them

Not at all.

:)

There are times when we as a society, a group of collectors sharing a hobby we enjoy, and as individuals . . . humans . . . can be empathetic to one another, but at the same time not condone/excuse poor choices.

What's next? Everyone is a winner and there are no losers?

You know what I mean.

You’re right. I apologize to Nathsp. But I’m still out for the rest of this discussion here.

Easier said than done.

Context and tone is difficult to gauge at times when reading text.

Unfortunately, there are those in various groups whose nature indeed come off as an attack of a personal nature whether it's intentional or not.

This discussion thread is an example of where polarization occurs from two opposite ends (i.e., @$MU$ sucks, @$MU$ doesn't suck) resulting in those attempting to be indifferent/neutral (i.e., wait and see) end up being criticized for maintaining such a stance while there are instances of disdain against those on either end of the spectrum.

What old timers called a good old fashioned flame war back in the day.

Grown adults bickering/debating about toys and the business practices of a company behind the toys.

God forbid if everyone with more than one post in this discussion thread were all in a bar and had a couple of pitchers of beer and/or many drinks/shots of hard liquor.

I imagine a good old fashioned bar brawl may ensue.

Im the first one that hope the best, i preorder it in the first 30 seconds of release, love the prototype, im open minded in figures, never judge anything until videoreviews and having it in hand by myself.
But in this case im concerned by all the scenario, its not a war vs asmus, is a collector who love evil dead and was excited by this figure, a collector who is concerned by how asmus is dealing with this, because 350 dollars is not cheap, thats all.

I don't think any personal attack is warranted when it comes to figures. Everyone has a right to either love or not love the figure that these companies produce. Everyone has their own line that they draw on what's acceptable in a figure or not and I think that's a key difference when it comes to these downgrades that happen.

Personally I think Asmus deserves all the scrutiny they're getting for this. I've watched their release on Gandalf, Legolas, Aragorn, etc and EVERY single one of their releases has had a change or downgrade from their prototype. Hats that are laughably downgraded and undersized, sculpts altered and downgraded through production, staffs missing features that are present in different batches, etc. With zero notice or heads up to their customers and these are for figures that they charge $300+ on.

They're very much like Sideshow/Star Ace where they continue to charge close to $300 or more for these figures but do NOTHING to improve their final production quality.

Meanwhile you have SooSooToys and Threezero charging $150 for figures while producing almost Hot Toys level of quality (SooSooToys more so) while at least slowly improving their figure game over time.
Asmus, Sideshow, Star Ace and any company should 100% be criticized for their false advertisements with these prototypes when their production versions don't come close to them. These figures are getting way too expensive with each passing year to just be like "Okay I'll just deal with it I guess.".

What makes this figure worse than others is them just bluntly posting prototype pictures trying to pass it off as if it's the production version they're producing. Why lie with some PR ******** instead of just owning up to your mistake and trying to amend it?

Why are the collectors, who are the ones paying a lot of money for these figures, suffering for their mediocre attempts? Stop selling pre-orders for $300+ figures with super nice prototypes if your production version isn't gonna come anywhere close to it. It's misleading as ****.

Either charge accordingly to the quality you put out or be prepared to be called out on your ******** when you do it.

Asmus have held mine back to be replaced with one with hair. I actually appreciate the effort they did that rather than send a dud one but my tns one will probably be bald.

The paint varies the base looks better here.
Mine was due to be shipped out yesterday but has yet to be collected, so hopefully that means I might get a haired one..

Even so, I dread to see the final outcome.

Good posting!
Maybe a quality control thread for each company should be set up. People can submit there issue with a photo of the problem.
Might give people a heads up on different companies plus it would show who the worst offenders are.
Or maybe that’s over the top to log that kind of thing.

Well said,
And great example with Butcher and Gambit. Gambit especially, is top notch figure, compared to what asmus delivered.
asmus should be ashamed.

And again, not just the bad quality of the actual figures, but their shady ways of not keeping their promises.
At one point, they said they will replace Tauriel's awful headsculpt, and up till today, they never keep that promise.
This is a screenshot I take from their Tauriel post in 2015:

So yeah, they've been doing shady things to customers many many years ago.

I have the invoice but I have yet to pay it. I probably won’t. I really wanted this too.
