Solo was mostly ok as a what if adventure but it's not canon to me. Only Ford can play Solo. L3 was obnoxious, Lando wasn't cool sauve Lando and Han goes from being nice to a bit of a scoundrel to nice again which takes away from his arc in Star Wars.

I’m addicted to dumb clueless benevolent spineless Fett is it Wednesday yet lol
Every Wednesday be like...

TM's last conversation with the Hutts was so bizarre.

"I'll make a truce with you but only if you leave Tatooine."

"Don't bother, we were going to leave anyway because for some reason Hutts are intimidated by Pikes."

"Here, take this Wookiee back as a bribe to leave my lands and claim to Tatooine."

"We don't want the Wookiee but we literally just said that we were leaving regardless."

*Girl Hutt to her brother* "Is he deaf?"

"I don't know, but this is ridiculous, I feel stupider for even coming here to have this conversation, let's just go."
I really didn't think the Hutt scene made any sense.

I now have a lot of questions.

Where did they get a rancor on such short notice?

Why is Black Krrsantan so short?

And why bother to talk to Boba Feeb if they were leaving the planet anyway?

When is the Boba Lounge-wear collection going to come out?

And when is Jar Jar going to show up?

Fennec is going to go have sex with the mayor if this idiot keeps playing with his Rancor.
She might want something really aggressive after being around "respect" Fett. Angry Rancor sex with poor Boba having to watch. No more who's a good boy then. That might have helped the Rancor sells for Haslab.

I really didn't think the Hutt scene made any sense.

Nothing makes sense in TBOBF.

I think that's the point though. It's Disney's test to see just how little effort they need to put in, in order to create 'Star Wars content'. :monkey3

It's unintentionally funny though, so in a sense it's a success anyway.

But the problem IS that they don't fit Star Wars.

The post he responded to with the PT vehicles shows just how trashy the bike designs are.

Specifically it's things like the handlebars and mirrors. They clash with the Star Wars aesthetic (inb4 "and that's a good thing").

The girl even has a leather vest with freaking zippers and studs.

I wouldn't guess they were from Star Wars if you showed me them on their own.

I literally cannot wait until Wednesday now. :lol

I'm a little worried that we won't see the biker gang again until the finale (otherwise lol if Filoni and Howard have to try and make them cool) but since RR is directing the finale they *will* be back then, of that there is no doubt. :yess:

And did anyone else enjoy Mechanic Lady's little cameo when Fett rode into Mos Eisley, lol. :rock

Ah, okay. Thanks for pointing that out. Then maybe they'll actually build on that distinction and acknowledge how much of a difference there is between bounty hunter Fett and this version that we're seeing in BOBF.

Watching a character who is supposed to be the same guy as OT Fett playing "who's-a-good-boy?" with a Rancor makes a piece of me die inside, but if they actually justify it and make it worthwhile, then it'll at least be easier to tolerate.

And even the Rancor being described as "loving" might be a ploy, with Boba being set up by Danny Trejo who could still be a plant by the Hutts to get Fett mauled by that very same Rancor. If so, then bravo on not rebranding rancors!

I won't expect this show to get that much better, but hope to be proven wrong and pleasantly surprised. And one thing I can pretty much guarantee is that it won't get worse than Episode 3. It just can't.
After getting dooped into believing that Mando Fett might be a clever setup for him to be working for Gideon there's no way that I'm going to let myself get excited for the possibility of something that cool occurring. I am taking *everything* at face value with this show. I mean just last week the Hutts told Fett to "sleep lightly" and then literally one episode later he's attacked in his sleep!

So if the Hutts say it's a gift and Trejo says it's kind and loving and Fett wants to ride it then I fully expect to watch Fett riding a kind and loving Rancor into battle in the finale (or sooner.) Remember Bad Batch already gave us a sympathetic Rancor just a few short months ago so I think they're just doing it again.

So now that we've got Newsradio guy complaining to Boba Fett's face I hope next week brings us Fett trying to topple Fran Drescher's wacky pyramid scheme by opening a competing jewelry shop that low balls her door to door prices leading to Alan Thicke hopping into a hover transport and giving merry chase through a Trandoshan chocolate factory, lol. :yess:
Complete random side note, but I love that you keep calling Stephen Root the "Newsradio guy". That's exactly the same association I make every time I see him, as it was the first role I ever (at least consciously) saw him in. That also means that he simply does not fit into the Star Wars universe at all to me.

Yup it’s really as shallow and simple as that…..

Perfect :yess: lol

It's acceptable as canon to me. It didn't do anything that I thought was outrageous or anything that seemed contradictory for the characters.
The only thing I didn't like was at the end where Han was talking with Chewie about heading to Tattoine to do the job for Jabba (implying it was the smuggling job that put the bounty on his head). IMO it was too early for that. Han was still quite young in Solo (Beckett referred to him as "Kid") and he and Chewie had basically just met a few days prior. In ANH he was an older, more seasoned smuggler than the one in Solo (basically Beckett 2.0), and it was evident that he & Chewie had been friends/partners for quite a while.

Luke Skywalker: You don't believe in the Force, do you?
Han Solo: Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other. I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to make me believe there's one all-powerful Force controlling everything. There's no mystical energy field that controls my destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.

Solo took place 10 years before ANH though. There's no way that Han was on the run for dumping his cargo that long. ;)

Remember that Jabba called him "a good smuggler" in ROTJ so I took that to mean that Han had been working for him for quite some time and had only recently fallen out of favor with him.
