From what I can see, we know the heads are Inigo recasts and body is probably a TTM19 KO. No Idea where the journal is from, but it looks more like TLC Henry Jones journal.

From DX05:
  • hat
  • jacket,
  • pants (maybe the web belt too),
  • shoes
  • shirt
  • whip
From SS TOD Indy:
  • the gun belt
  • holster
  • gun
  • satchel
That's what it looks like to me at least

Pretty sure the notebook is "inspired" by the one that came with the HT Indy to be used as part of the maproom outfit.

Ahh yes you're probably right about that. Really looking forward to how the sculpt and paint comes out, especially with all the great paint ups that it's had by so many talented artists. It obviously won't compare to those but still nice to see.

It has been a really long time without an official Indy product so this is very welcomed. I hope its good.

That said, I'm guessing there will be lots of Indy merch once we get closer to Indy 5. Mad Max has three different companies suddenly making 3 different figures and Max doesn't even have a movie coming out.

This is the oldest of my pre-orders. Good to hear that it will be releasing soon.

As for the figure itself, I went in knowing that it wasn't going to be at a custom figures' level of detailing but with the notion of being able to use it as a base for a TOD Indy, which I think will work. The price also helped.

And that sculpt of Jim Carrey is pretty darn good!
The Jim Carrey sculpt is only good as whatever it was copied from was good. For all we know, the head in the promo is an original.

Yes but the in hand photo I posted is supposedly the final product. Could still be the custom they used as reference though.

In hand pics are the real teller. I personally wouldn't pre-order this. This is definitely one of those wait and see figures.

Also, Present Toys is notorious for "presenting" a huge number of figures and not releasing them. There's got to be over a dozen figures that haven't seen the light of day.

Actually they are now realeasing three figures in something like 10 days. Indy, Truman and Bruce Wayne + Raz Al Ghoul. So make it four...

I did hear about Indy, which is great, as I have him pre-ordered.

I do hope that they come through with all of the other announced figures, as they are covering a lot of licenses that are either ignored or abandoned by the bigger companies.

Yeah, it's licenses which they don't have, which is why I'm surprised they're so blatant with their promos. If they butt heads with the House of Mouse, they will come off second best. These guys should stay under the radar.

They're no more blatant about making an unlicensed figure than any other 3rd party company IMO. Blackbox making all those 007 figures, Redman making copies of Rainman customs which Rainman also didn't have a license for when he made those figures. Poptoys making many Last Samurai figures and I think now Braveheart. The list goes on. As for quality, I think most of us have a pretty good idea of what we're getting into when it comes to 3rd party figures. I know I go in not expecting the greatest of quality, so at least I may be pleasantly surprised by what I get when I open the box.

Not trying to be rude or anything here, but you sound like you have something personal against Present Toys? Did they copy a custom you spent $1000s on and are feeling a little burned? I'm genuinely asking and not trying to be sarcastic or anything.

I think China realizes there isn't much we can do to protect IPs from merchandising overseas. The pandemic has seen an explosion of 3rd party entries -- or maybe a few companies with many different faces. But there's clearly a lot less fear than there once was.

Yup, regardless of it being a recast, if that pic you posted is in fact a final product, they did a great job recasting that headsculpt. The paint and clothing look pretty great reproductions as well considering the price difference compared to the actual custom figure.

Present Toys figures are fully promoted as the characters, which are intellectual properties. Redman, Black Box and others are more discrete with naming. It's the lack of discretion I take issue with. It makes people not in the know assume that they are licensed, so they brag about them on sites owned by the license holders. It puts unlicensed stuff on the radar which, in time, if unchecked, could make movie companies take up against ANY unlicensed product. That's the custom scene wiped out because what was supposed to be limited run suddenly became mass produced. That's a worst case scenario, but, you can only push big companies so far before they cry enough.

It would make what happened with the 3A Dredd seem like a drop in the ocean.

Do you mean the Arts Figure Dredd? Are 3A and Arts Figure the same company? Or did 3A have an issue too?
