I don’t see any Hot Toys coming from Visions considering, the entire show was dumped all at once with little fanfare and Hasbro as well as Funko hasn’t made anything from it

Call me crazy but I think the Death Star trooper would have sold. He was an original 12 back and had that cool base. He was in all 3 ot movies and solo. I think people would have bought more than one. Personally, I was in for 4 Death Star troopers. I’m going to go cry now.

The issue is they wouldn’t put all that development on a headsculpt of a character that doesn’t even have a name

And it’s even worse when it’s a trooper but they’ed have to all have the same heads

I mean if you were Hot Toys would you make the Iron Man repaint that is guaranteed to sell, or the Death Star Trooper that was on screen for around ten seconds?

Ever heard of the Kenner 12 back? Those Death Star Troopers would sell well, better than those Coruscant Guards. The head sculpt has to be the killer though.

it’s the same reason they wouldn’t make Veers or Piett, a repainted trooper will bring in more profits than developing a head sculpt of a very minor character

Another morning of nothing. I am going to write a country song called Hot toys breaks my heart every morning.

Last couple of weeks the announcements came on Tuesday. (At least over here. I guess in the States it would be Monday evening or something). I'm guessing within 12 to 15 hours.

About time they show a Star Wars figure again (hopefully Cobb), but watch and see it being What If Zombie Cap or something.

I liked Solo. I think it's underrated and gets a bad rep because of trouble during production and coming right after The Last Jedi which left a bad taste in people's mouths.

I think Solo is a fun heist-movie set in the Star Wars universe and it's too bad that it underperformed and won't get a sequel.

In al honesty, I’d take The Last Jedi any day over Solo, and I don’t love The Last Jedi

I know you’re not really an OT guy and that’s fine, but I think you sincerely underestimate how much money OT fans are willing to spend on OT product, especially if it’s good quality.

I’m a massive OT guy lol, Empire is my favorite movie of all time. I’m just trying to be realistic from Hot Toys perspective. It’s just not worth it to put money into very minor characters while a slightly different Luke, Han, Leia, Chewie would all sell much, much better

I just know that Hot Toys likes to get army builders out fast, so realistically they would put something like a Tie Pilot or another stormtrooper out before the Death Star Trooper. Maybe it’s because I think they have the absolute worst design of any trooper in Star Wars

The problem with Death Star Trooper is that it's not really your normal helmeted Trooper figure. It's easy to sell multiple helmeted troopers but not a lot of people will buy the same trooper and have multiples of the exact same face. The face paint will take more work than the usual helmeted troopers also. It's best to view Death Star Trooper as a named character figure than a trooper.

People would still buy multiples. I would buy three. It's easy to source cheap random sculpts nowadays.
