It never ceases to amaze me, how each of these Trek characters affect different people in different ways. To the average Joe, they are just fictional characters flying around in spaceships, firing lasers. But to those of us in the fold, they are so much more. Every odd kid can see themselves in the outsider like Odo or Spock. Others can be inspired by the engineers or the doctors, while the struggling single parent can relate to Sisko or recognise the trauma or guilt of another character, in themselves.
This is why I love Trek

With Sisko I would like to see Bashir and O'Brien, Odo too.

In all honesty DS9 has my largest want list. At least 21 characters.
10 main incl Worf & Ezri
Then Dukat, Garak, Damar, Founder, Rom, Nog, Leeta, Kai Winn, Weyoun, Grand Nagus & Martok.

As much as I love DS9, I could probably live without most of those. After the main cast the only supporting characters I really need are Dukat, Garak, and Weyoun. And possibly a Sloan.

Still that OT Trek core cast photo *without Sulu, aches my heart, can we replace it with this more anticipatory cast photo\

(*And no, before the usual heads explode, no I'm not suggesting he was inferring no Sulu, it's obvious why he said more or less just using some basic cast images.)

Didn't noticed that yes, just some random image from Google. Your TOS picture is good. Ibwill surely do Chapel and I will also make a Captain Sulu.

I’m probably one of the odd ones out where I grew up watching the OG cast movies with my dad, and that’s my Trek nostalgia. I do like TOS, TNG, Enterprise, and am enjoying Voyager as I make way through. Before anyone says it yes Ill watch DS9 after Voyager. But the movie figures will be my grail Trek. I still like the others shows, and will collect those lines too.

Yeah I look forward to the day when I can have as extended a Trek collection as I do SW and Marvel.

Hearing everyone's varied opinions on the series reminds me of one of the things I love about Star Trek - how so many generations can take a different Trek as their own. I still fondly remember being 10 years old in 1987 watching the premier of TNG on a 13 inch TV while doing my homework, thinking this is how Star Trek (TOS) should have looked if it were made today. Of course that notion makes many TOS fans cringe.

That show stayed with me every week until Jr. year of high school. Seven short years, so much change. It literally is the Trek I grew up on.

There are fans growing up right now on DSC and PIC. For them, this is Star Trek, and that's all part of the reason I will always root for Trek's success, whether I like the show or not. We all start and end at different points, but we all share the common journey. At its best, it's a wonderful, hopeful journey that teaches us about ourselves... and is always just beginning.

One thing in common for different generations of Trek fans except the new Trek, the time we first liked Trek was the time we were free from most living worries.
