The gold being shiny is the reason I didn't PO. I'll still own this piece, eventually.

But yeah, that little detail slowed down my rush in purchasing him.

I'd be happy with the previous ones, either battle damaged or normal. The prices are crazy for them though

If you look at the CGI Mark 3, that contrast of the metallic faceplate to the dull maroon armor is correct.
That is why I love the look of this bust compared to any of the previous Sideshow Iron Man pieces.

You're not wrong. I've just personally based everything MK 3 off this scene since 2008 but maybe some BD/weathering is what I need to add(or wait for)

Yeah, this one is definitely pristine in the finish... but if it were done really well
I would totally double-dip to get a full-on battle damaged version like after he
got hit with the missile.

Well taking it from CGI to actual real life materials there is bound to be a little variance.
Again, what Sideshow did here is leaps and bounds better looking than all the other life-size Iron Man pieces to this point.

Oddly enough, the finish on the faceplate reminded me of how the Mark 6 and 7 looked in Avengers

Couldn't find any better examples from a quick google search, but I remember the first time I watched Avengers I thought the faceplate stood out a lot more than in IM1 and IM2.

That being said, I'd love a Mark 6 version of this

Aren't there like weathering powders or something that one could use to dull it down a bit without worry of it being a permanent mod?

I love the bulkiness of the Mark III compared to the later more organic versions of the suit, it gives the bust a good presence.

The mask seems to be less reflective than some of the other pictures posted previously. The reflection is not as sharp and defined under both natural and artificial light. I'm very happy with this piece.
