I'm confused is this a figure or a "statue" with mixed media. Tho I am definitely on board either way!

1/4 scale mixed media Alec and Ewan sculpt. Please allow me to throw my money at you! I like that this is toned down a bit from the 1/5 scale mythos with the sculpted cape. It was a beauty but this will fit better with the rest of my collection.

I luv the original but wasn't collecting - or a least collecting that kind of thing; and while I luv the original and especially the way the cape blew out - these "wide" pieces for me are a pain in the @ss.

I've appreciated Iron Studios' Mando being relatively "vertical" and compact, while still having some movement.

E.g. I can mess with the cape on this one for display without worrying I am going to chip it. If the work is as good as Cara Dune I will be one happy camper.:blissy

IMO one awesome younger Ewan sculpt which is how I want to display. Grim, sunburnt, just setting up life as an exile. Plus an excellent older sculpt. My hand is twitching wanting to hit the preorder button

Bigger photo here, it looks like the whole outfit is fabric ... which is a bummer because that means I'll probably have to buy it. :p

I remember being very close to buying the first Mythos statue, but just because it was all sculpted, it didn't really fit. Not that 1/4 scale statues are any easier to fit in my small space, but this design really resonates with me.

I have the original Ben Kenobi Mythos.

I'm conflicted, not sure I can get Rex, Mace AND Obi-Wan even with me selling off some of my collection.

I have the MYC Mace Windu and sticking with that one. I sold the original Rex Sideshow PF years ago and might pick this up as I like the dynamic look with the duel blasters. This Obi-Wan piece is a Day One PO for sure.

I've had the original Rex in storage for years, it was a pretty boring piece, but had it paired with their Legendary Scale Rex bust for a bit.

After watching Sideshow Live, all 3 pieces are bangers. They really nailed all of them.

I have a few Mythos and a few 1/4s, and I hate mixing them up but don't see myself ever getting rid of the recent Vader Mythos or the Ventress Mythos.

Ugh, I have some time to think it over lol. Rex is a day 1 for me, seeing it live, it blew me away at how good it looked.

Premium Format used to mean a clothed, mixed media statue. Over time it became shorthand for 1:4 scale statues, which is a shame. With so many statue companies these days the cloth outfits really made them stand out from the crowd. This is a perfect example of how impressive the cut and sew outfits can be.

It looks fantastic. My only gripe currently is the all gray haired Ewan sculpt. Would much prefer that headsuclpt to just have a hint of gray much like his look in OWK series rather than the full head of gray hair. The Alec Guiness sculpt is arguably their best yet and beats out the HT and the Jnix sculpts for sure.

Thank you! Watched the live stream and was disappointed they didn't show the younger Obi sculpt - but, am sure it will be awesome. I'm in for sure! Now I need a Qui-Gon😁

I have the original so will probably pass on this, but this does look really good and is a great option for those that missed the 1/5 scale version.

All this time - since I've admired the original - I thought the original was 1/4! At least this one will go with my IS Mando e.g. I'll never have that many 1/4 can't afford and don't have space. :monkey2

I'd like to see the kind of house that can accommodate a full size Prime 1 Balrog head....

It'll be a long wait if ever in our life-times. This is the first, sort of Ewan Premium Format statue they've made after all these years.

All the mythos pieces have been 1/5 scale, unfortunately. Still pretty large, especially the newer ones with more elaborate bases but still too small when directly compared to 1/4.

One of the few times I'm happy to throw money at a company - I've always liked pondering about Obi-Wan's life all those years, in exile. Of course the show made an attempt - not wholly bad I think; I can imagine him having had some sort of low end job (lol I try to ignore the aspects I find pretty questionable but that's another forum:monkey3)

And I've admired the original - I'd have been happy to own it, eventually, but it's 10 years old now. Which I don't think means anything - except, yah know, if you are buying an older piece I don't know if it might be more brittle, or what. Maybe not. I've got a few Sideshow GI Joe environments and they are rock solid. Maybe better quality poly than what is made today.

Anyway don't feel like paying 1,000+ for the original :horror I think this piece will be close to that, but at least Sideshow has payment plans.

I wonder if that has to do with this look essentially being canonized by the Obi-Wan Kenobi series? They’d have to more closely abide to the screen accurate look if they went with a less grey Ewan sculpt? Not sure why else to go with the two grey sculpts when the original was darker haired for both.

Can't say anything about the TV series/movie, but it is canonized in the comic series.. I drew this cover, inspired by the Sideshow Mythos Obi for Marvel's Obi-Wan mini-series..

The mini-series unfolds the untold stories of Obi's younger days to the point where he accompany Luke to take his place in the galaxy.. so @Sassafras, this might be helpful if you want to know what he's been doing in his exile years.. :)

Yea you could be right about that. Would be sort of ironic given that his look in the final moments of the finale were inspired by the mythos statue/figure per the director, yet now SS maybe wouldn't be able to label it strictly as a mythos piece without calling it an OWK series piece
